Diwali Unit
Diwali, also called Deepavalli, means “row of lamps” and is one of the most widely celebrated festivals in India and around the world. This year, it falls on October 20th. Families mark the occasion by lighting small oil lamps, decorating their homes, wearing new clothes, sharing sweets, and enjoying fireworks. The festival celebrates light over darkness, togetherness, and joyful traditions. This week, we’re excited to share resources from the Diwali unit on MusicplayOnline by Manju Durairaj.

Honoring Our Heroes
On November 11, we pause to honor those who have served and sacrificed. In Canada and other Commonwealth countries, Remembrance Day commemorates members of the armed forces who lost their lives in service, while in the United States, Veterans Day recognizes all military veterans for their dedication and courage.
Music plays a powerful role in these observances. This week, we’re featuring our new song, “Thank You,” along with a collection of Remembrance Day and Veterans Day resources to help you plan meaningful classroom lessons and ceremonies. Explore these and more in the November 11th Unit on MusicplayOnline.
Fall Songs and Storybook Connections
Fall Favorite Songs, Singing Games, and Storybook Connections!
Fall has arrived, and with it come some of my favorite classroom themes, songs, and activities to share with students. Autumn is such a rich season for music-making—it brings opportunities to celebrate the changing seasons, connect movement and play with singing games, and weave in storybooks that spark imagination.
