Sub Planning Tools on MusicplayOnline
Putting together substitute teaching plans can be time-consuming—especially when you don’t know whether a music specialist will be available to cover your classes. MusicplayOnline has some fantastic resources in the Lesson Planning section that can make preparing for a substitute easier while keeping students engaged, learning, and making music!

Logging in a Substitute to MusicplayOnline
With MusicplayOnline’s MyList feature, you can make substitute teaching days a little easier! Create a customized list using resources from MusicplayOnline, along with any external links you’d like your substitute to use. Learn more about creating and sharing Lists in our My List article.
Simply share the MyList link with your substitute and have them log in using your student code. They’ll be able to access the resources you’ve selected—without having full access to your account.Choose the activities you’d like your classes to work through, add them to a List, and your sub will have everything they need in one convenient place. Musicplay even has a printable guide you can provide for your substitute teacher.
Grade Specific Sub Tub Resources:
These Sub Tub Activities provide ready-to-use ideas to help keep music classes running smoothly when you’re away. With options for a variety of grade levels, substitutes can choose from familiar songs, singing games, movement activities, rhythm and instrument activities, listening lessons, and online games. Simply leave the appropriate grade-level sheet for your substitute to follow, giving them plenty of flexible activities to keep students engaged and making sub planning a little easier.
